ASHGABAT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is located approximately 10 km (6 mi) northwest of the capital Ashgabat. The impressive design houses five floors can process a staggering 1,600 passengers every hour. Ashgabat International Airport has a solid transit potential, situating at the important crossroads of regional and interregional routes of communication. Due to the exceptional favorable geographical position and low cost of refueling by jet fuel, as well as ground handling, the airport has a unique opportunity to perform technical landings. The airport accepts all types of flights.

RUNWAYS
The international airport of Ashgabat has two runways. According to technical characteristics, the airfield belongs to aerodromes of class "4F". There is two runways, first runways length is 3800 meters, width is 60 meters. Magnetic landing courses are 115 and 295. The second runways length is 3800 meters, width is 45 meters. Magnetic landing courses are 115 and 295. The runway from both courses provides landing of ICAO category II aircraft. Characteristics of radio and light- signal equipment, АТС facilities, equipment of the strip allow to ensure the production of aircraft landing in difficult weather conditions.

CARGO TERMINAL
The cargo terminal operates around 24 h. 7 days week, providing a full range of services for handling of all categories of cargo, including dangerous goods.
• For the convenience of the client, the cargo terminal of the airport houses agent offices of airlines selling freight. The nominal freight turnover is 200,000 tons a year. Here, the customs clearance of goods is carried out and the transfer of goods passing through Ashgabat to other Turkmen and foreign airports is provided. The terminal is equipped with modern technological equipment.
